A parliamentary party of Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) has authorized the co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to decide about the leader of the house in the National Assembly (NA).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Parliamentary Party here with Zardari in the chair on Saturday, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

The Punjab President of PPPP Shah Mahmood Qureshi said after the meeting that the parliamentary party also authorized Zardari to hold talks with other parties to form coalition government.

The general elections of Pakistan were held on Monday and initial results showed that Pakistan People's Party won the largest number of the NA seats.

He said the party had yet neither finalized any candidate for the post of the prime minister nor decided for the leaders of house in the provincial assemblies.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Zardari briefed the participants about the ongoing dialogue with other political parties to form coalition governments in the center and provinces.
