A South Korean Buddhist team has arrived in Nepal for five-day visit, the National News Agency RSS reported on Sunday.

The team that arrived from South Korea Saturday was welcomed by Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

The 300-member team led by S. Korean Buddhist guru, Sun Mook Hye Ja will be visiting Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha in southern Nepal and the capital Kathmandu, according to RSS.

Speaking at a program organized in honor of the team, Koirala said Nepal enjoys a very close relationship with the S. Korean people and the government, and described S. Korea as a good friend of Nepal.

Nepal is presently striving for durable peace and would support with open heart any efforts made for peace, he said.

During its visit in Lumbini, the S. Korean dharma guru and Lamas from Nepal will hold a special peace prayer on February 25, according to a agenda.
