Indonesian prosecutors said Monday the trio Bali bombers in death row had filed the second case review against their sentence with the main intention of delaying execution.
The case is currently being review in a district court in Denpasar, capital of Bali resort island.
Prosecutor Olopan Nainggolan urged the court to turn down the case and uphold an earlier Supreme Court verdict that rejected the first case review.
"Even any single word (in the first and second case reviews) is exactly the same. It is intended to delay the execution," he was quoted by leading news website Detikcom as saying.
"We recommend that the judge panel reject the case review and declare the Supreme Court verdict, which rejected the first case review, legitimate and authentic," the prosecutor said.
The bombers -- Imam Samudera, Amrozi and his older brother Ali Ghufron -- have been convicted by the Denpasar court of plotting and carrying out the October 2002 bombings at two nightclubs, that killed 202 people on the island, and sentenced to death.
Their appeal attempts have since been rejected by the higher courts. Source: Xinhua
