Four Palestinian militants were killed overnight Sunday in several Israeli army missile attacks and ground operations in the Gaza Strip, medical and factional sources said Monday.

The latest death was Medhat Awad, 20, a militant from the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), the pro-Hamas armed group said in a statement faxed to the media.

Local witnesses said that the militant was killed during the clashes with Israeli forces, which took up positions near the destroyed international airport in Rafah border town after they stormed southeast Gaza Strip this morning.

Hours earlier, three Islamic Hamas movement militants were killed in two separate Israeli aerial attacks on eastern Gaza City and southern Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses said. Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services told reporters that three Palestinians were killed in two separate Israeli air strikes, specifying one of them was killed in Shaja'eya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and two others were killed in Khoza'a town east of the southern Gaza Strip city of Kahn Younis. In addition to the deaths, two more people were wounded in the airstrikes, he said.

Meanwhile, al-Qassam Brigades, armed wing of Hamas, also said in a leaflet sent to reporters that "Hani Abu Sallah and Tha'er Musabeh from Khan Younis and Husam Abu Hein from Gaza City were killed in the two aerial attacks."
