Pakistan Wednesday expressed its concern over India's test-fire of a nuclear-capable missile, saying the test would trigger a new arms race in the region.

India test-fired a sea-based nuclear-capable missile on Tuesday. The indigenously developed submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) was launched at the sea eight kilometers off the eastern Orissa coast.

While speaking to media in southern coastal city Karachi, Pakistan Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir said the Indian seabed missile test would spark arms race in the region.

"It is a sensitive issue and Pakistan has an eye on it," he added.
