Twelve people have been killed in fighting between rival rebel factions in India's Nagaland state bordering Myanmar, according to the police on Friday.

The police said 12 bodies had been recovered from a village in Nagaland state.

The all 12 dead were believed to have taken part in a gunbattle between rival factions of the separatist National Socialist Council of Nagaland, the police said.
