A suicide car bomb attacked an Iraqi army patrol in western Baghdad on Thursday, killing two civilians and wounding 13 people, an Interior Ministry source said.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when the suicide bomber drove his booby-trapped car into the patrol in the Mansour district, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The powerful blast resulted in the killing of two civilians and the wounding of 13 people, including three soldiers, along with damaging several nearby buildings and civilian cars, the source said.
Earlier in the day, one civilian was killed and four others were injured in a roadside bomb explosion targeted an Iraqi police patrol in the Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad.
The attacks came as the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is paying a visit to Baghdad aimed at boosting bilateral ties.
