Indonesia has lifted a tsunami warning after a strong undersea earthquake hit North Maluku province in the east of the country, the meteorology agency said.
In December 2004, over 170,000 people were killed by tsunami triggered by powerful earthquake in the province.
Indonesia is laid on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called the Pacific Ring of Fire where two continental plates meet that cause frequent seismic and volcanic movements.
