An earthquake with magnitude of 5.0 struck easternmost of Indonesia on Wednesday, with no report of casualty or damages, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
The quake rocked at 08:55 Jakarta time (0155 GMT) with epicentre at 607 kilometres northeast Jayapura of Papua province and at 48 kilometres in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia is laid on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire," where two continental plates meet that cause frequent seismic and volcanic movements.
