Former Indonesian minister for state-owned enterprises Laksamana Sukardi was declared a suspect Friday in the alleged misappropriation in the sale of two oil tankers belonging to state-run oil firm Pertamina.
State prosecutor Kemas Yahya Rahman identified Laksamana and two other suspects by their initials in a press conference at the Attorney General's Office here.
"After the investigation team completed examinations on witnesses' accounts and evidence, we came to a conclusion that the three people were the suspects," he said.
The two others were later known as Pertamina's former finance director Alfred Rohimone and former president director Ariffi Nawawi.
"We already imposed (overseas) travel bans against them," said Kemas, adding questioning of the three suspects would start next Wednesday.
Pertamina in 2004 sold two large tankers while in construction in South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries for 184 million U.S. dollars without prior notice to the finance minister.
The sales came under scrutiny amid suspicions that Pertamina didn't hold a proper tender and that the price was far below the actual market value.
