Visiting Vietnamese top leader Nong Duc Manh received honorary Seoul citizenship on Thursday, local media reported.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon presented the certificate and medal of honorary Seoul citizenship to Manh at the Seoul City Hall and expressed a wish for closer cooperation between Seoul and Hanoi, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency said.

Seoul and Hanoi established sisterhood relations in 1996. Manh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, arrived here on Wednesday for a three-day visit on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea.
