Another moderate quake with magnitude of 5.1 jolted Sumatra Island on Saturday, no report of damage or casualty, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said here.
The quake struck at 12:06 local time (0506 GMT) with epicenter at 50 kilometers southwest Muko Muko town of Bengkulu province and10 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Twenty-three people were killed in the province and a nearby province of West Sumatra after a strong quake hit Bengkulu province in September.
In 2004, over 170,000 people were killed in the province after a tsunami, triggered by powerful quake, devastated coastal areas of the province and other countries in the Southeast Asia.
Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire," where two continental plates meet and cause frequent seismic and volcanic movements. Source: Xinhua
