Two soldiers from the NATO-led International Security Force (ISAF) have been killed while on patrol in southern Afghanistan, said an ISAF statement released in Kabul Friday.
"Our respectful condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues of the soldiers who gave their lives in support of ISAF's task to enable Afghanistan to allow the people of this region to live in peace without fear of violence and intimidation," said Wing Commander Antony McCord, an ISAF spokesman.
In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty's nationality.
Meanwhile, a statement from the Danish army operational command said that two Danish soldiers died of injuries sustained in a firefight with unknown gunmen in southern Afghan province of Helmand on Thursday.
The firefight took place while the soldiers were on patrol in the upper Geresk Valley of Helmand, the Danish army's statement said.
