Vietnam wishes to cooperate with Iraq in the fields of building oil refineries in the Southeast Asian country and tapping crude oil in the Middle East country, local newspaper Vietnam News Wednesday quoted a Vietnamese deputy prime minister as saying.

During the meeting with visiting Iraqi Trade Minister Abdul Fala Hassan al-Sudani on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai also welcomed the countries' agreements on exporting rice and other agricultural products, and cooperation in the oil industry.

The Iraqi trade minister said his country would consider the investment in building oil refineries and agricultural product processing plants in Vietnam.

Iraq also wants to cooperate with Vietnam in the fields of industry, service, and infrastructure, he noted.
