Afghan troops killed four Taliban insurgents in Musa Qala district of southern Helmand province on Sunday, the Afghan Defense Ministry said.
"At around 6:30 a.m.(GMT 0200), the Afghan government troops in clean up operation in the east part of Musa Qala engaged with the rebels and killed four of them," the ministry said in a press release.
A large number of arms and ammunition and four motorbikes were also seized by the government troops during the operation, it said.
There were no casualties on Afghan forces, it noted.
Government troops backed by NATO recaptured Musa Qala from Taliban this week, some 10 months after the Taliban controlled the lawless town.
