Six members of an extended family were tested negative of avian influenza on Saturday, ruling out concern of possible bird flu cluster in Indonesia, according to the country's health ministry.
"All the laboratory test for the six persons were negative," Armand, official of the anti-bird flu center of the ministry, told Xinhua.
The patients were transferred to the Persahabatan Hospital here from a small hospital in the town of Serang in Banten province near JAkarta on Friday after they showed clear signs of bird flu symptoms, such as respiratory problems, heavy coughs and high fever, said Nyoman Kandun, the ministry's director of communicable diseases.
