Four military officers were killed and three others were missing on Sunday after a Navy aircraft plunged into the sea off Sabang in the Aceh province.

The airplane got an engine trouble when it flew from Sabang to Medan amid an unfriendly weather condition, Metro TV quoted a military official as saying.

The airplane was forced to return to Sabang, but failed to reach the departure airport. Instead, it made an emergency landing into the sea, some 200 meters off the Sabang shore. The emergency landing was not successful.

The names of the victims will be announced later of the day and he Navy is still searching for the three missing officers, said the report.
