Border security tightened on eve of election in Bhutan

Security at the borders of Nepal and India and India and Bhutan has been tightened on the eve of the upper house election in Bhutan, which will be held Monday.

According to The Himalayan Times Monday's report, border of India and Bhutan will be closed on Tuesday and the Indian border security forces have been deployed there.

Large number of security forces had been deployed from Mechi to Phunsoling of Bhutan, the report said. Security at the Nepal-India border has also been tightened.

An election for 25 members of upper house will be held Monday in Bhutan, according to the report.
