Three people have been killed in a bushfire after being trapped in their traveling vans amid raging bushfire in western Australia, police said on Monday.
The bodies of two adults and a child were recovered from two burnt vans on a highway between the towns of Southern Cross and Coolgardie in Western Australia state about midnight on Sunday, the police said.
The bushfire in the region has been burning since Friday, scorching more than 10,000 hectares and forcing a major Western Australian state highway to be closed.
Authorities reopened the highway on Sunday but then closed it again after the tragedy. Source: Xinhua
