An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 hit Indonesia's Southeast Sulawesi province on Thursday night, the local meteorology agency said.
The quake struck at 18:15 Jakarta time (1115 GMT Thursday) with epicenter at 21 kilometers southeast of Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, and at 50 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
There was no report of damage or casualties immediately.
Indonesia is laid at a vulnerable zone, so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire", where two continental plates, stretching from the Western Hemisphere through Japan and Southeast Asia, meet, causing frequent volcanic movements.
