Vietnam will, for the first time, host the 18th Global Summit of Woman (GSW) on June 5-7 in the capital of Hanoi, which is aimed at broadening women's view on the world and fostering their leadership positions, local newspaper Vietnam News said on Wednesday.
The annual meeting, with the theme "Women and Asia Driving the Global Economy," will discuss various issues relating to business, environment, and life and work problems faced by women both domestically and globally during economic integration, including woman trafficking.
"Last year, many contracts were made between our businesswomen and others from different countries. I hope this year will see the creation of more contracts and economic partnerships between summit participants," the newspaper quoted Vietnamese vice president Truong My Hoa as saying.
Two awards for international and Vietnamese leadership will be given to most successful businesswomen during the summit.
