Thailand's newly-appointed Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said on Wednesday that he would finalize the Cabinet line-up before Thursday.
Samak said he would finish his list of People Power Party's (PPP) candidates to the Cabinet and then complete the whole lineup after a final meeting with other five parties.
"Since this is a coalition government, it takes time to allocate seats but we should have the new Cabinet by Thursday," Samak was quoted by the Bangkok Post's web news as saying.
Meanwhile, Samak was upbeat that his Cabinet would be acceptable for the public and that his leadership would last up totwo terms, or eight years.
"Even Chart Thai Party chief adviser Sanan Kachornprasart told me that I should serve to the best of my ability as this is the last stretch of my career -- a short period would be four years and a long one for eight years," he said.
Samak, a 72-year-old veteran politician, received 310 supporting votes from MPs in the Parliament on Monday, defeating his opponent Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva who won 163 votes. He officially received the PM post on Tuesday evening.
