Timor-Leste's Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao said Wednesday that he would ask parliament to extend the 48-hour state of emergency to 10 days.

The government of Timor-Leste on Tuesday declared 48-hour state of emergency after the assassination attempts on the country's president and prime minister.
