New Zealanders are concerned with environmental issues and want to learn more about how they can make a difference, the Government said Wednesday when releasing the results of a survey.
Environment Minister Trevor Mallard said the survey questioned 1,000 people and 53 percent said they were "deeply concerned" that they were not doing enough to help.
"It found most New Zealanders were taking at least some steps to protect the environment," he said.
"Two-thirds said they would like to know more, and a further 28percent said they actively looked for information about what they could do."
Mallard said the findings reinforced the need for practical information to help people make eco-friendly choices in their homes.
