The talks between the Nepali government negotiations team, led by Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel, and the Federal Republic National Front ended inconclusively on Monday.
Kishor Kumar Bishwas, president of the Federal Democratic National Forum told Xinhua that the government team failed to address their demands including management of fully proportional electoral system for the upcoming elections to the Constituent Assembly (CA) based on population.
"Our demand for amendment of the Interim Constitution was also flatly denied by the government talks team," said Bishwas, adding that there is no point in policy based understanding as the current coalition government fails to guarantee Federal Republican States on the basis of historical background of ethnicity, linguistics and regional with the right to self determination.
The interim constitution of the country has been repeatedly amended, but the Front's demands were overlooked by the government, he said.
Meanwhile, another member of the Front and Member of the United Tharu National Front Chandra Narayan Tharu also accused the government team of not taking the talks seriously.
The Front is an alliance of various groups active in different districts of southern Terai plains and eastern hilly area of Nepal.
