Nepal's National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said it will work for safety and security of theelections observers, reported the local media house's website nepalnews.com Sunday.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Nepalgunj, situated some 320 km southwest of capital Kathmandu, commissioner and spokesperson of the NHRC Gauri Pradhan said preparations were underway to upgrade the security of election observers.
Pradhan said the commission would work in coordination with other human rights organizations in the country through its regional offices to deploy volunteers during the polls for security to the observers.
European Union, the United States and other members of the international community have announced to deploy their observers for CA elections scheduled for April 10.
Earlier on Friday, the NHRC issued a press release expressing concern over the unimproved human rights situation in the southern Terai plains of the country caused by the continued strike and demonstrations.
The national human rights watchdog, condemning the bomb attacks on schools and houses of political leaders and election officials, said strike has badly affected the school environment and caused negative impact on children preparing for their School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations, the secondary schooling.
It asked the agitating groups to make their demonstrations peaceful and allow children to enjoy their right to education by not forcing the schools to close.
