An Indonesian Navy officer was among those perished in the Monday's crash of a United Nations helicopter in Nepal, local press said Tuesday.
Lieutenant Colonel Sondang Doddy died in the accident, in which12 people were killed.
He has been stationed in Nepal since Jan. 20 along with five fellow Indonesian officers, reported leading news website Detikcom, quoting a spokesman with the Indonesian Military headquarters here.
The 1988 military academy graduate was in Nepal to join the UN peacekeeping force, said military spokesman Rear Marshall Sagom Tamboen.
His family in the Jakarta suburb of Bogor has been notified about the accident, he said.
