An earthquake measuring 5.3 Richter scale rocked eastern parts of Indonesia on Monday morning, no report of damage or casualties, the meteorology agency said here.
The quake jolted at 8:27 Jakarta time (0127 GMT) with epicenter at 45 kilometers southwest Sumbawa of West Nusa Tenggara province and at 24 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia is laid at a vulnerable zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire" where two continental plates meet causing frequent volcanic movements.
