South Korea is set to replace its chief nuclear envoy this week, the Korea Herald reported on Monday.

It appears unlikely that current envoy Chun Yung-woo will attend a new round of six-party talks on the nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula, the local daily said.

Chun said earlier when meeting with local media that "higher officials" will decide his new position while Chun's aides said he is preparing to leave.
