Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has ruled out the possibility that the government would hold dialogues with armed Madhesi groups before the Constituent Assembly polls, The Kathmandu Post reported on Monday.
"Since dialogues one after another is disturbing the election environment, the government will not hold further dialogues with any armed group," said Koirala, while talking to journalists at his home in Biratnagar in eastern Nepal on Sunday.
"The government is not in favor of spending any time on talks now on the eve of polls."
The prime minister also ruled out the possibility of mobilization of army during the April-10 polls. "Army will only replace the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel in guarding vital installations," he added.
Responding to a query about the possibility of all the democratic forces coming together for polls, Koirala said, "Election is the only process that brings all democratic forces together."
