Nepali EC to mobilize special class officials in observation of election

The Election Commission (EC) will mobilize special class officials of the Nepali government in monitoring and observation of the April 10 Constituent Assembly election, the National News Agency RSS reported on Monday.

According to the RSS, a 51-member monitoring team that also includes officials of constitutional bodies have been authorized to observe the election process and its activities in 44 locations of various districts for 15 days individually.

The commission organizing a function here Monday informed the participants about the importance, role and responsibility of the selected team.

The EC also informed that in preliminary estimates some 4,100 filed nominations for the first-past-the-post electoral system and6,100 in the proportional electoral system.
