UN Electoral Monitoring Team arrives in Nepal |

An Electoral Expert Monitoring Team (EEMT) of the United Nations has arrived here for its fourth visit to Nepal.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, the UN informed that the five-member monitoring team led by Antonio Reis of Brazilis established under the mandate of the Security Council resolution 1740.
The statement said that the team will hold a wide range of meetings with national and the international personalities to gather information and listen to their views related to the electoral process and will also travel to different regions to meet with local actors.
The members of the EEMT are responsible for assessing the April10 Constituent Assembly electoral process on a regular basis in order to determine whether it is proceeding in a manner that will lead to a result that accurately reflects the will of the Nepalese people, according to the statement.
The UN informed that the EEMT will report to the Secretary-General, who in turn will share its reports with the government of Nepal and the Election Commission.
