Unidentified gunmen opened fire at a passenger train at eastern Pakistan city of Lahore on Tuesday, killing four people, the state-run television reported.
The gunmen sprayed bullets at a train coming from the industrial city of Faisalabad to Lahore, the capital of Pakistan's Punjab Province, PTV reported.
The gunmen fled after the firing.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
PTV said the gunmen ambushed the last apartment of "Badar Express" at the locality of Sheranwala Gate.
Private TV channels put the death toll at five, and reported that three other persons were also injured in the incident.
Motives behind the attack were not clear and the railway police said they have started investigation.
The firing occurred hours after twin huge suicide bombing attacks in Lahore, which killed 24 people and injured around 170, Pakistan's Interior Ministry said. Source:Xinhua
