At least eight people were killed in a tractor accident along the Karnali Highway in mid-western Nepal Tuesday evening, the National News Agency RSS reported Wednesday.
The tractor was bound for Surkhet from Jumla, some 380 km west of Kathmandu, when it caught the accident at 6:30 pm local time (1245 GMT) at Khairibihani of Kalikot road portion.
The mid-Western Regional Police Office quoted a passenger, who survived by jumping out of the tractor, as saying that the accident took place after the tractor suddenly lost balance in thenarrow road and then fell some 900 meters below.
