There is a chance of holding a general election before the G-8 summit scheduled for July in Japan, said a main Japanese opposition party chief on Wednesday.
It is not beyond the bounds of possibility for the House of Representatives to be dissolved for a general election, said Ichiro Ozawa, president of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), while meeting young DPJ legislators.
Criticizing the incumbent cabinet's insufficient capability to govern the country, Ozawa encouraged opposition lawmakers to get poised for the election and catch the "tail wind" for the DPJ. Source: Xinhua
