Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala Thursday urged the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) leadership to refrain from intimidation, threats and creating terror amongst the people.
"The Maoists must end intimidating, threatening and terrorizing people at this stage when the country is at the threshold of Constituent Assembly (CA) elections," Koirala said while publicizing his party's election manifesto here Thursday, according to a Nepali leading website, eKantipur.com report.
He urged the Maoists to join hands with other parties to make anew constitution. "We cannot be successful by terrorising and intimidating the people," he said adding, "I have heard some parties talking about winning and losing in the election."
Saying that the April 10 CA poll was not to win or lose, Koirala said, "In a fight to establish democracy, everybody would be a winner. Nobody would be defeated."
Koirala also emphasized on national unity and reconciliation for a sovereign, independent, peaceful, stable and prosperous Nepal.
