Two moderate earthquakes hit southern Philippines Thursday without causing casualty or damage, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The first quake with a magnitude of 4.3 hit around 15:08 local time (0708 GMT) the areas of Tagum City, Davao City in Davao del Sur and Bislig in Surigao del Sur, said Phivolcs.
Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic in origin and was traced 89 kilometers northeast of Tagum with a depth of 41 kilometers.
The second quake took place around 19:03 local time (1103 GMT) and was felt in several southern Mindanao areas and North Cotabato province in central Mindanao, said Phivolcs.
The second tremor, which registered a magnitude of 4.2, was also tectonic in origin and originated 72 kilometers southwest of Digos City in Davao del Sur. An aftershock was felt a few minutes later.
