An Accountability Court in Pakistan on Friday acquitted the widower of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in the last corruption case against him, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.
Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari, also co-chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was accused of impersonating himself as student by importing an armored luxury BMW vehicle in the name of a student with intent to evade duties in 1995 when his spouse was ruling the country, said the report.
The Accountability Court on Friday quashed charges against Zardari in the BMW case, said the report.
The court has already withdrawn six other corruption cases against Zardari on the basis of a National Reconciliation Ordinance issued by President Pervez Musharraf in October last year.
With all the corruption charges against Zardari withdrawn, he is now eligible to contest bye-election due in May, local media reports said.
