A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit Samar province in Eastern Visayas, central Philippines, Sunday afternoon without causing casualties or damage, local television network GMA News reported.
The television quoted the United States Geological Service (USGS) as saying the quake was recorded at 13:18 local time (0518 GMT) with its epicenter at 170 km northeast of Calbayog in Samar province.
The epicenter was also some 170 km east-southeast of Pandan in Catanduanes province in Bicol and 200 km east of Legazpi City in Albay, central Philippines, or 520 km east-southeast of Manila. Source:Xinhua
