An earthquake with magnitude of 5.4 Sumatra Island on Monday morning, but there were no reports of damages or casualty, local meteorology agency said here.
The quake hit at 06:05 Jakarta time (2305 GMT, Sunday) with epicenter at 54 kilometers southwest Mukomuko town of Bengkulu province and 57 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia is laid at a vulnerable zone, so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire", where two continental plates, stretching from the Western Hemisphere through Japan and Southeast Asia, meet, causing frequent volcanic movements.
