Vietnam will host the 17th International Association of Democratic Lawyers Congress next year, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Tuesday.
The Vietnamese government will create favorable conditions to ensure the congress' success, the paper quoted Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong as saying.
The event will provide a good opportunity for the international community to understand the Vietnamese people and their culture, he said.
The association, a non-governmental organization, aims mainly to facilitate contact and exchanges of views among lawyers and lawyers' associations of all countries, develop democratic rights and liberties in legislation and in practice, and promote the independence of all peoples. Source: Xinhua
