Moderate quake jolts S Philippines |

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake shook the southern Philippine province of Davao Oriental Thursday night but there is no report of damage and casualties so far, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said Friday.
PHIVOLCS said the quake was tectonic in origin, possibly caused by the movement of the Philippine trench.
