Two soldiers of the U.S.-led Coalition forces have been killed when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in southern Afghan province of Kandahar, said a Coalition statement released here on Sunday.
Coalition forces, along with Afghan National Security Forces, were conducting a security patrol on Friday in the Zharmi district of Kandahar when their vehicle struck a mine placed on a frequently traveled road, the statement said.
"The names and nationalities of the deceased are being withheld pending the notification of their next of kin," it added.
Taliban insurgents have not yet to make comments.
Over 220 people have been killed mostly in militant-related violence this year across the war-torn country, where the anti-government militants have vowed to intensify their guerrilla-style attacks.
