New Zealand police on Sunday released the names of the four family members from China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, who were killed in a head-on collision near the town of Clevedon, south of Auckland on Friday.
They were Wilson Wing Fung Ha, 33, Lai Chun Yip, 61, Kong Hoi Ng, 59 and Sze Lui Ng, 25. The only survivor of the family in the accident, a Hong Kong woman named Sze Wan Ng, 32, also known as Clara, was seriously injured and is expected to make a full recovery.
Clara Ng's cousin Connie Wu, who arrived from Hong Kong after news of the tragedy broke, thanked hospital staff, police, the Chinese Consulate-General and the Chinese community of Auckland for their support.
"I am please to inform you Clara is recovering well," she told a media conference in on Sunday.
Police were still investigating the cause of the crash.
The Hong Kong family were among eight people who have died to date on New Zealand roads over Easter holidays.
