In the next 18 days, Rudd will travel around 45,000 kilometers as he visits Washington, New York, London, Brussels, Bucharest and Beijing on his first major overseas trip since taking office.
His first stop is Washington, where he will be hosted at the White House by U.S. President George W Bush.
Rudd will make a whistle stop visit to New York to meet UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
