An explosion in the southern part of the Philippine capital on Friday morning killed one person, local media reported Friday.

According to the online edition of Philippine Daily Inquirer, the fatality was identified as a scavenger, and the explosion rocked a residential area of Taguig City of Metro Manila.

Taguig police chief Alfred Corpuz said the cause of the blast has not been determined. There are no other reports of casualties so far.
