Serbian Ambassador to Seoul Zoran Veljic warned on Friday that his government will take actions, including the sending of a protest letter, against South Korea's recognition of Kosovo.
"It is a very unfortunate decision," Veljic was quoted by local media. "It is an act that denies Serbia's territorial sovereignty."
The diplomat said Serbia-South Korea relations will not "be the same as before."
He said his government will take actions including the sending of a protest letter to the South Korean Foreign Ministry. Concrete steps will be considered, he added.
The ambassador emphasized that Kosovo's move has never received formal endorsement from the United Nations.
Veljic's remarks came after South Korea announced on Friday that it decided to recognize Kosovo, which declared independence on Feb. 17 despite opposition from Serbia, as an independent country.
