A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook Indonesia's North Sulawesi Province on Saturday, but there is no report of casualties and material damage.
The earthquake took place at 09:55 a.m. local time, according to Antara news agency.
The quake's epicenter was located at 0.97 degrees northern latitude and 126.60 degrees eastern longitude, at a depth of 65 kmunder the Maluku sea, and around 210 km southeast of Manado, capital of North Sulawesi province, Mudjianto, head of the data and information section of the Manado meteorological and geophysics office was quoted as saying.
The tremor was felt at the second and third levels of the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI). Source: Xinhua
