The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday blasted Japan's efforts to keep the United States from removing the DPRK from its "terrorism sponsors" list.

"It is a political mistake and an act of going against the trend of the times," said an article by the official news agency KCNA.

The article followed reports that the chief delegate of Japan to the six-party talks had told U.S. officials involved in the talks on March 17 that the matter of delisting the DPRK as sponsor of terrorism is a matter decisive of the Japan-U.S. alliance.

Japan was conducting poor diplomacy in a bid to upset the six-party talks, said the article. It also urged the Japanese government to change its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
