A military aircraft crashed to a field in Vietnam's Hanoi capital city on Tuesday morning, killing all five people on board, a local official told Xinhua.

The Made-in-Russia AN-26 with two propellers of Vietnam's Air-force and Air Defense Service fell into the field in Ta Thanh Oai commune, rural Thanh Tri district, the official from the Military Command of the district said on the condition of anonymity, noting that "all five people on the aircraft lost their lives."

"Some local residents said they heard an explosion in the air, and saw the aircraft fell onto the ground. The people on board must have been on a training flight," the official said.

Local relevant agencies are probing into the accident.
